Emergency Medical Services Our Emergency Medical Service response is managed by our Rescue Captain and Rescue Lieutenants. The North Scituate Fire Department provides Advanced Life Support Transport and first responder care to the town of Scituate. We respond with Rescue3 and Special Hazards to provide immediate care and transport. In an effort to accomplish these tasks our personnel maintain varied EMS skill levels that include EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, EMT-Defibrillation Certification, EMT-Cardiac, Paramedics, as well First Responders. Our response initiative includes regularly scheduled duty nights and a commitment to maintaining radio communication with our Fire Alarm's dispatcher, as well as other incoming responders and apparatus. Additionally we reinforce our Rescue 3 with a well-stocked and ALS equipped Special Hazards and when confronted with multiple responses, we intervene with Brush 23, followed by Ladder 22. Our staffing includes the following: First Responder 4 Certified EMT-Basic 19 Certified EMT-Intermediate 3 Certified EMT-ACLS/Cardiac 8 Certified Paramedics 3 Certified EMT-Trainees 2 in Training EMT-ACLS/Cardiac 1 in Training Our training and re-certification programs are provided on an In-Service/On-Going basis. |
